When my black lab was about 2 yrs old, she swiped a new perscription off the kitchen counter my ex had just picked up from the pharmacy. She took it out in the back yard and chewed it open. I collected up and counted the pills then called her at work to see if she has taken any. She had taken 1 so 1 was missing. Called the vet's and they said to give the dog hydrogen peroxide. I couldn't do this alone, luckly favorite daughter arrived home for the weekend and we forced a shot of peroxide down the dog with ex's turkey baster. A few minutes later the dog heaved her contents including what was left of the pill. The dog is fine. moral of the story..keep medications out of reach of dogs as well as kids!
