Have had both good and bad luck from several seed companies. As far as seed quality goes, I bought some bulk buttercrunch and black seeded Simpson lettuce seed from the local True Value Hardware store last spring. Planted some of both kinds several times both in the spring and fall. None germinated. Was throwing out old seed later so just broadcast them on the garden. The lettuce seeds all geminated what looks like two three times, way too thick but we are still having lettuce from them. Go figure. Joe
