On better soils with nutrients addressed properly a good corn silage yield should run in excess of 25 tons per acre. The top producers run 30 to 33 tons per acre or more. For what it cost to raise an acre of corn 15 tons would be barely covering cost or even loosing money. At that point it would be better to buy your corn.
