I just bought a new set of Firestone's for the Mrs' van. For the longest time I hated Firestones. My '01 F-150 was made a month or two before Ford announced they would no longer use Firestones as OEM tires. They were still legal when I took them off at 88,000 miles, it's just we were making a Thanksgiving trip 1/2 way across the US and I felt tires with a little more meat would be nice if we saw snow.
Ran the van 900 miles in the last 2 days. The new Firestones are quieter than the OEM Bridgestones, were good in the snow and were about $40 a tire cheaper than Michelins. Guess I don't hate Firestones anymore.
I've had BFG T/A All Terrain's on two different trucks and was happy with them, the second set was a lot quieter than the first. By the way BFG (BF Goodrich) is owned by Michelin.
#1 Daughter's used Fusion came with a near new set of Uniroyal Tiger Paws on it, if you live somewhere that has snow don't do that.
