Just watched a news report recently where the concept of 'dog owning for security' was tested. They actually did "simulated" break ins at random (volunteered) dog owner homes and the videos were showing that (something crazy like) %90 of the dogs were quiet, hid, or waged their tails, etc. when the stranger "broke in". A real eye opener that I never would have expected.
