Here's just one man's opinion. I've had boxer dogs for 40 years. In my opinion, they are the ideal family dog. We've always let ours sleep inside at night. We bathe them regularly. Feed a measured amount of quality food. The kids and grandkids lie on them, examine their teeth, touch their tails, etc. I've never had one of my boxers snap at anyone, but have mercy, the fuss they create when a stranger comes on my property.
They're big and some people would say ugly. They are very initimidating to see, but are actually very friendly to anyone who should be around.
