I'd hate to have to use a gun to defend myself or my family. That said, if I NEEDED to, or my wife or kids did, then there's no such thing as "too much gun". Personally, I like .45's. I don't plan on wounding someone if I'm reduced to shooting to protect myself. My wife carries a 9mm. Got a couple shotguns handy and an AR15 close at hand if needed. I'd rather walk away in handcuffs than be carried out on a board.
