if you are in a running gun battle or fire fight then big and high capacity is needed but for self defense sometimes the appearance of a gun is all that's needed or shots fired and missed will scare most people off or shots fired with a hit, killed or wounded, will be enough. my thoughts only. i would go with a revolver as they are easier to understand. i prefer 38 special in a five shot snub nose. easy to carry, easy to conceal, easy to draw, easy to shoot, easy to load, easy to unload . hollow points at close range will stop em.
