I am writing a reply to a farmer bashing editorial tha was in my local paper a few days ago, and have a few questions. Since I only grow hay I am not up to date on the Fed programs, especially since the changes in 2000. Do livestock producers, beef/hogs/poultry qualify for any subsides? Other than hay and I believe vegtable growers, are there any other crops that are NOT subsidized? What is the "standard" amount for grain farmers, i.e., govt. covers 100% of crop, or just enouigh to cover expenses? I posted the whole article on CROP TALK below. Any TRUTHFUL addition are welcomed.
