Couple that with the expensive repairs. For some reason we have problems with injectors. Doesn't matter if you replace one or all, 30k-50k later you are replacing more of them. The other issue is front suspension and front tires. Basically the front end is under load 100% of the time. Medium duty engines in light duty trucks are heavy. And warranty doesn't cover it.
Then you have operator error. We had to replace two engines because they tried to use ether to start them - just like they do with the equipment on a job site when its cold. Start factoring in those costs and suddenly nothing is looking "cheap".
