Glen, I have posted this several times, so I am trying something different so there is more info available. During the Revolutionary War Gen. James Clinton Comander of the Coninental army set up base camp in the dooryard of Clinton Camp Farm, To start the second phase of the army's march, from overland to rafting down the Susquehanna River to link up with the 4th PA Regiment and on to support George Washington's army at Valley Forge. Clinton set up camp here to dam up Otsego Lake, the headwaters of the Susquehanna River. I couldn't get the link to feed on here, so just google in General James Clinton, Go to Revolutionary war era, and the story is there. The two pics. is the Historical marker at the farm, and a monument by my house on todays, US Rt20, (in revolutionary days called "The Great Western Turnpike"), commerating Clinton's life.
