I was borned and raised in Dallas. I used to pick up stuff like that all the time. The guys that I worked with gave me a hard time about it as I was a union carpenter then. I made a lot of money on the side repairing and reselling items that I picked up from the curb. About 30 years ago I moved to the country, where I had always wanted to live. The hardest thing for me to get used to out here was when people throw things away here they are of no use to anyone. I still love it here though. 60 miles outside Dallas/Ft. Worth
