If you want a coyote gun the best caliber is 22-250,nice and fast hardly any recoil.I have 3 savge rifles and i love them the accutrigger is very nice.I also live in illinois and i lke the 22-250 because as soon as it hits something its done no ricochet (sp?).When you get into better bullets its no more expensive than 223 and alot faster and flatter shooting.
