Jerry, I was never fortunate enough to own a tractor large enough for duals, but let me take a SWAG at it. You notice all the wheel tractors run the right wheels in the furrow. This helps you plow a straight furrow next time around. The man likely runs duals most of the time, but two tires would be too wide for the furrow, so rather than remove the dual from both sides, he only removed the one. With the dual on the left you still have some added traction. Hope this helped a little.
