After 10 phenomenal days of sunshine and calm here in central NY, winter has arrived. I have been chisel plowing this week. But it has been a little wet for that until today. Was freezing every night, so there was a lot of slime every day! Lake effect flurries kicked in today with the stiff wind. But it was just warm and sunny enough there was no accumulation. Corn stalks did get a little damp for a while. It's probably white north of here, and would guess it will be here in the morning.

Today's Featured Article - Recollections of a John Deere GP - by Charlie Cook. I grew up on my dad's 280 acre general farm in Western Michigan. Dad's only tractor when I was very young was the old GP. My first recollection of this tractor was when dad allowed my brother and myself to ride on the tractor with him driving. One of us would sit on the left fender (away from the clutch) and other would sit on the gas tank and hold onto the crankcase breather pipe.
