Actually Texas has an interesting option, residual from it's days as a republic. It can legally structure itself as 5 states rather than one. Of course iy would lose it's biggest of the contiguous stes title BUT 8 more red senators would certainly alter the landscape in the senate. Also adds 8 more red electoral votes. Doubt it would happen though, they would never agree on who gets the Alamo.
