Tractor Supply sells it as "Ford 90W transmission oil." Pure mineral oil , or "SAE 90W" is gear oil with a GL-1 rating.

Non-detergent 40W engine oil is just about the same.
The only tractors I know of that still really need it are those with wet-steering brakes e.g. Oliver and Case crawlers. Anything other then straight mineral oil will have some EP additives like zinc and phosphorus and they plug up brake bands and make them slip.
Many modern GL5 oils are rated "yellow metal safe" which would be your only - and very slight - concern.
