I have a 2800 4 bottom. I pull it with a 110 hp. f.w.a. In a good year I raise 200 bpa corn. I run across them with a disk and then plow them. Plug about once every 100 acres. But to be fair the 2800 is a vari-width plow and if you get good at it and are constantly watching for start of plug you can open it up and 9 times out of 10 it will go through. If you have any amount of acres to plow I would not consider anything but a vari-width. Can usually prevent plugging, can keep furrow absolutely straight, can follow along fence or road ditch perfectly by "steering" plow and can close dead furrows better.
