The deer killer [can't call him/her a hunter]had a tool to cut the fence with them ,so probably came prepared to cut the fence if they need to.
When they cut your fence,it was the same as stealing from you,they used tools they brought to commit crime if needed.
To me if you'd dropped them as they cut the wire,there would no diffrence than stopping someone that was using a bar to break in your barn/house.
Expect to get flamed/cussed for my outlook,but that is how I feel.
