No, I don't think so. We had dogs pretty much continuously for the first 30+ years we were married.
A bout of hyperthyroidism brought out her allergies, which show up as skin problems and they are truly severe. I've got pictures that would gag a buzzard. We went through nearly two years of hell before they finally identified the source(s).
I do find it a bit annoying that she won't even consider a hypoallergenic breed like a poodle (I could deal with a standard poodle...) but I also understand that after what she went through she doesn't want to take ANY chances.
I just love up on other people's dogs when I get the chance.
