I didn't see anything that looked as bad as they're saying on the news. I did see one Belgium that had it's ribs showing. That's not so rare for some horses when they get old. Not sure about that draft horse though. I had a 30 year old Arabian stallion that ate like a pig and his ribs still stuck out all the time. They also show a tree with the bark chewed off as "evidence" of starvation. Well maybe . . . it it was pine tree or some other conifer. If it was a maple or fruit tree, heck . . . goats and horses love to girdle them - regardless of how well fed they are. Most of the trees at that farm are Scots pine and poplars.
The Sheriff states that several animals are so bad they have to kill them after seeing the vet. Who knows? I DO know that some vets go overboard a bit with what they consider "abuse."
