Where the f#$% you people live anyway? You obviously don't have damp cellars, sweaty concrete, humid air... possibly no rainfall? Or do you all keep you bullets in a climate controled baby crib? A goldfinger vault in a climatically stable corner of the universe? We'll have to show this to Q so he can take notes and ad that to the MI-6 inventory...
I might have mentioned shelf life mearly in jest...as I have inherited the contents of secret armories of US citizens who have since died of old age never needing to use their inventory in anger against Lyndon Johnson's loyal hoards of local police and military personel intent on confiscation.... like Bendee's ANZAC surplus 303's.... they just faded away into powder...and jelly.... and I don't know how to discribe the other buildup...
30 years. 1982!!!! whoa you guys got some old stuff there...even tho I got pairs of socks older than that... you might want to make the piggy bank cry and pull the trigger on one now and then, to see if the primers are holding up. Can't shoot space aliens with hangfires, the little ones in the round shells are slow, but not that slow.....
I also 'usually' store my ALL metal objects to last as long as reasonably possible, I am aware of people who did not take such precautions, and had Y2K crates of crap. Of course, these were 1981 handloads he stored at the ready for the bloody great a pox eclipse.... and also a sad day in my own fallout shelter when a flap of cardboard wicked up enough moisture to make a crate of 1976 national match 30-06 brass unsafe to load and shoot....in less than 2 or 3 years?- I think, wasn't counting...cause I didn't intend to leave it there.... oh, yes, inspecting for pitting and cracks at the shoulder and neck is for sissies...safety is for massoles back east.... where we need to fill out ATF form 3310.4 if purchasing over two firearms per day per Brady bill..... but that, like rain water...is only in the dumb parts of the US it seems...

Today's Featured Article - Oliver 550 Clutch Overhaul Tips - by Greg Sheppard. I got my 1964 Oliver Model 550 (serial 141-139-519) second-hand and used it for several years before the clutch began to slip. After taking up the pedal linkage several times I saw it was going to take more than that. The engine had been leaking oil at the rear seal and I suspected ... [Read Article]
