I think the only 4-stroke engines in weedeater-size are made by Honda and Subaru (Robin).
I had a Robin for a couple of years and really liked it, but traded it in for one with a bigger Honda engine because the Robin seemed a bit gutless running a brush blade. Big mistake! The Honda has never really run right. When it's hot it seems to "flood out" at full throttle when it has to work. I took it back to where I bought it and told them it must need a carb adjustment, but they said it runs fine and couldn't reproduce the problem. They didn't try to clear half a mile of electric fence though, I guess. Sure, it does run fine when spinning string to trim around trees and the yard, but if that's all I wanted to do I wouldn't have thrown down all that money for a high-priced weed wacker.
