we lost power quite a bit as a kid... lived in a little river valley and when it flooded, no power now and then in winter.... We always kept every empty area of the freezers filled with something to make ice.. Had a Coleman propane lantern, Coleman 2 burner stove, and one of them campfire percolator coffee pots... didn't have to worry about it being too hot, just had to jump off the back porch to swim a little.... :roll:
