My son had a tire that kept going flat on his Gran Prix. Well the rim was cracked by the bead area. We went to the local body shop and I asked the owner if he had a used rim. Well he had a car out back he just bought that had 4 new Michelin tires on aluminum rims. He said he wanted $250 for all four tires with the wheels. Each tire is worth $160. We got to keep our old tires and wheels too! Had to pay $19 in sales tax. I called a junk yard and they wanted $139 for a used rim plus our old core. Core is worth $65. I figure we got $640 worth of tires and $520 of wheels and saved $810 not including the $19 in sales tax we had to pay. So I would have to say we had a good day today!! Did anyone else get a good deal lately???
