Marilyn and I walked in, did the paperwork, voted and left. No lines at all in the sleepy little VFW hall. Marilyn and I were reminiscing about the various places we have voted. We've lived here all of our married lives. First was a one room school with the big windows, creaky floor and smell of the coal fired furnace. It's where my parents went to vote ever since they moved here in 1948. Then a couple of townships were consolidated and we voted in a motel room in the country. A few more townships consolidated and the voting place was moved to the fire station in the nearest town. Now it's in another town but the VFW hall is the designated spot. I still miss going to that old country school. The old standbys that ran the voting and fired the furnace back then are either dead or in the nursing home. Jim
