I think that fact that Mayor Bloomberg was pushing to have the race in spite of the recovery efforts shows just how out of touch with reality this billionaire is.
As one runner put it, it gave her an uneasy feeling that they were warming up a tent so the runners could have a pasta meal prior to the race yet they were other victims who hadn't eaten in 3 days.
Shutting down a bridge into the city just for runners meant delay of gas, food and rescue supplies, not to mention the 12,000 volunteers needed to organize and monitor the race.
I don't think to this day Bloomberg sees that he did nothing wrong. Remember this is the guy who makes sure citizens of the city cannot own handguns.
New York is a beautiful state, but I still like Texas for its independence and freedom!!
My prayers still go out to the many victims up there.
