And speaking of farmers and thieves, I had an applicant for a loan when I was with PCA who wanted to raise hogs. He gave me his cash flow projections, and I noted that there were no feed costs. He said he was a longshoreman at the grain terminal in Kalama, and he was going to pick up the "spillage" and use if for feed. What if there isn't enough spillage, I queried? "Oh, there's always enough spillage," he replied with a wink and a little grin.
