A fraternal (though girls can join, too) organization for school age farm boys. The amount of actual farm education is up to the local chapter and the school district in question. Most were pretty much clubs and if students wanted courses in subjects such as welding or tractor repair they would spend part of the day at a regional education center that specialized in that. Here in New York BOCES filled that role.
