I stepped on a big belt buckle one time that was laying on the floor with that gigantic hook side sticking up. Drove it all the way in my heel. Stepped on a live mouse one time,bare footed. That was a treat. Ran a nail through the bottom of my boot a year or so ago. Went right in to my foot. Couldn't take the boot off because it was nailed to my foot. Had to limp to the tool box and get something to pull the nail out. Was constantly stepping on things as a kid going barefoot.
When my son was about 6 or 7,he ran a nail right through a bone in his foot. It was a used nail,had just enough of a hook on the tip that they couldn't pull it back out. Had to have it surgically removed.
