The workers were not turned away or told we do not want your help. I can agree with that.
But they were told by the local union these are our terms you must agree to for us to allow you to work here. The Non Union guys from Ala and Ga would not agree to the terms so they just went home.
Since N.J. and N.Y. the two states I have seen in question are NOT right to work states the power company could not do anything about it.
So slice it anyway you want to make it fit your side of the story but the truth is many will go for extra days without power because the local union enforced their strong-arm tactics.
