I made one out of a centrifugal impeller pump and a piece of 3/4 steel pipe. I made a point on the one end and drilled a row of hole down the side. I put a valve on mine to shut it off when moving it.
I usually inject the molasses in 4-5 places around the bale. I like to do it a day or two before you feed it. That allows the molasses to spread in the bale.
I made it to use the first time in 1988. I feed some pretty crappy, dried out grass hay. The cows stayed in good condition with the supplement in the bale. Even good clean straw will work when injected.
