Installed 100 watt curly florescents in the tower lights on a two-way radio repeater tower. Completely destroyed the usability of the receiver in the system due to static produced by the lamps. Went back up the tower next day and replaced with old fashioned incandescents. Should have thought - flourescents are basically a gas filled discharge bulb. In other words, sparks jumping from one terminal to the other terminal at the other end. Static in a tube!
