your post recalls to mind a conversation with my dad some 50+ years ago. dad like most men his age grew up poor, being a disabled ww2 vet pretty much meant his family grew up less than affluent also. i came in from school one day and announced to him that i was going to join the football team. he looked at me and said ok, however; if i wanted a car or nicer clothes then i was going to have to get a job and pay for them as he could not afford them for me. i thought about that for a moment and then realized what life for a young boy without a car would be. one of the worst thoughts for me was walking or being carried back and forth to school. quickly realizing that football meant no time for working i forgot all about football and went out and found a job oh, i still found my share of trouble as a young man but somehow managed to muddle through life and into adult hood. probably had enough advice by now but two thing to consider with both being equally important: a spirtual life with active participation in a church and making sure you and your wife are actively working togather on this.
