The rye will work best this late in the fall. I would not work the bean ground at all so it would need to be no-tilled in. In corn stalks I usually just mix the rye in with the Potash I am applying for next year then just lightly disk it in. The stalks get cut up a little and the rye and Potash gets worked into the ground. I did some this fall three weeks ago and it is just coming up now. The ground was so dry it just laid there until we had some rain last week.
