I was wondering if anyone here has used a John Deere 1240 plateless planter to plant pumpkins? I have seen 7000 series planters modified to plant pumpkins by removing every other finger on the pick up, but didn"t know if that was possible on the 1240. Any insight on this would be helpful as I am looking for a planter to plant corn and pumpkins. I am considering a 1240 that I have found locally.
