These motors are set up for a chain drive set up. They came fro ma place that makes whiskey barrels and they use this type of motor to drive big turn tables and also long belts to feed the block of oak into the band saw mills they have. I worked for the place one summer till I got layed off and from what I remember these motors where high torque since some of the turn tables where a good 10 feet in diameter and when covered with blocks of oak where turning a lot of weight
