If it is a IH 300 or 350 the IH serial number plate should be located just behind where the engine bolts to the clutch housing on the right side of tractor and near the oil filter level. Numbers may be all the information that you can see on the plate. If so look above the oil filter for C-169 or C-175 cast on the block if its a gasoline tractor to try to identify which tractor. If original C-169 = 300 and C-175 = 350.
