They where kind of the last low computer tractor series JD built. They still had a ECM and PCM but where a simple wiring harness. Starting with the 8020 series they went full out computers. I think the newer ones even use CAN-BUS wiring. I can't do much beside change the oil on the real new stuff.
An 8010 series would be the newest JD tractor I would personally own. I have run the newer ones and don't like how they operate. Plus they will not last with all of the electronics on them. The repairs will be so high you can't afford to fix them.
