Yup... as Zach said, a hot needle and a steady hand. It relieves the pressure under the nail and is instant relief. Nothing like pushing a a red hot needle through the top of your thumb nail. Dad said it will separate the men from the boys. I think first time I did it, it took me about 30 minutes to figure out if I was man or boy! (was probably more like schoolgirl...) But, go slow. There's no pain at all in it, just the relief once it goes through. Oh, once it goes through , the blood that exits will cool the needle.
