could have sheered the woodruff key on the governor control arm. would allow the carb linkage to be out of time. vertical linkage pin at the top could have fell out n gover nor would work but butterfly would be floating n could get stuck open. best pull the inspection plate off n have a look. also pull off the vent cover on top of the governor.
