It comes down to this fact: Trying to reinvent the middle east into a Western-based process of Freedom of thought, and Religion, and Capitalism is nearly impossible. We have pissed away Billions trying to get these people to "behave" like us. Aint gonna happen. The only logical thing to do is leave them alone and let them blow each other up feuding over Islam. (And be sure they pump oil for us)
I thought the "objective" in Iraq was to remove Saddam and Find WMD. I have been told that WMD was found. A guy I work with was in Iraq in 2003, he says so. The media just wont say the truth.
