Do you have any experience with the scopes designed for AR's?
I have used an assortment of different scopes on mine. For general purpose use, My favorite budget scope is a Nikon 2-7x32 "Pro Staff". It is a shotgun scope in their catalog. Can be had for under $150. Bright, clear, repeatable adjustments. On 2x it is super fast and with some practice you can keep both eyes open. On 7x it is more than adequate for groundhogs at 400 yards if you know your holdovers.
