If you can add enough front weight or the drill has lift assist, it shouldn't be a problem. I have removed the JD 520 20 ft drill from the notill caddy and used on an MM 1050. That is quite a "long tractor" but with a full set of front weights the front end still gets pretty light when the drill is full. The IH 5400 might be slightly heavier. Might prove best to never fill beyond 50%. With the front end so heavy I found it necessary to use track erasers to remove the front tire marks. Fortunately drill mounted track erasers came along with other spare parts. Don't need them when using a coulter cart and going notill.
