I feel your pain. we have an old Westfield MK 13 X 61 with rust pitted transport lift cylinders that leakdown. Very expensive to replace and new ones rust immediatly out in the weather because they mount the cylinders shaft up.
If only westfield had mounted those cylinders shaft down, rain could not get in and they would last forever. Our "fix" was to attach a chain to the top of the A frame and welded a ring to the end of the boot so we can hydraulicly position the auger where it needs to be on the bin, then snug the chain using a chain binder connected to the boot and the chain. No more leakdown and a relativly cheap easy fix.
