Most times I would agree with you about JBWeld... but I can honestly say I found a legitimate use for it this summer that saved me a bunch of money. The air cleaner assembly on my 7710 developed holes in the end plate where the clean air exits. Welding was not an option as there was nothing to weld. I applied a PILE of bronze to it that was still bubbling out or would collapse. Rather than lose the engine over a hole I mixed up a complete tube of JB and slathered it on after a good cleaning. I've got to admit it made a very clean smooth job and it fully sealed the holes. For 20 minutes work and 10 bucks worth of product it saved me probably well over 100 bucks. Now I may never do that again as long as I live... but there's one where it worked.
