A couple of friends of mine drove up to canada to do some hunting. After about 14 hours on the road they got to the border.
The border agents wouldn't let one of the guys in because he had a DUI conviction several years ago.
He didn't want to wreck the trip for everybody, so he rented a car and drove home.
Not sure if they're still that strict, but it wasn't all that long ago that it happened.
I'd strongly suggest that if anybody has ANYTHING in the way of a police record, that you try to find out if it's going to be a problem BEFORE you leave!
