A fair amount of beans are processed for animal feed here so it would be possible out there. My understanding is that in California corn is only grown for dairy forage as there are crops grown there that have far more value than corn or soybeans that are grown to sell. The key for animal feed is that the beans will need to be roasted so that will be a limiting factor. California has a very substantial dairy industry so I would imagine there are support businesses to market to. Distance will need to be looked at as transportation costs could make shipping beans to California economically impractical.
