Good motor but expensive to rebuild or work on. The Duetz diesels have gotten crazy on the parts cost. You can sometimes find the parts out of Canada and they are much cheaper. There is some deal with Agco that protects the US market for them.
There is a glut of used skid steers on the market right now. There are good deals on first rate machines. If this one has a bad motor then it would need to be real cheap to be worth the time and effort. Also how good will the rest of the machine be if the motors are bad???? How will you know what the hydros are like without being able to run it??? I will bet you will have to sign a statement you are buying it as-is. SO there will be zero recourse if you have other problems.
I would not give more than scrape value for one not running in today's market. In this Bobcat 863 case that would be 3-4K tops.
