Kankakee, Il paper had a write up on the deer dying in Kankakee county. Caused by a bug called Midge. Similar to a no seeum insect. When water is short making for smaller water sites - when the deer come to drink they are bitten by the Midge, doesn't take very long for the to die from high fever. Effects cows, but don't know to what extent? Age of deer makes no difference. Called blue tong.
